From the outset, the founders set out to build a flexible, partnership-driven investment firm — one that could operate beyond the constraints of traditional managers. Alceon was designed to forge deep relationships with business owners and management teams, invest its own capital alongside clients, and structure each opportunity independently. That approach allows us to tailor strategies to the unique merits of every opportunity and support long-term growth over short-term gains.

Alceon was founded by three principals – Trevor Loewensohn, Phil Green and Morris Symonds – who saw an opportunity to build a different kind of investment firm in the Australasian market: privately owned, partner led and closely aligned with its investors. Drawing on their experience across investment management, capital markets and corporate advisory, they set out to combine institutional grade rigour with the agility and accountability of a firm where the principals invest alongside their clients.
From the beginning, the founders focused on capital preservation and disciplined structuring, with a selective approach to opportunities and a commitment to transparent communication through market cycles. Their shared history and complementary skills shaped a culture that is analytical, pragmatic and grounded in long term relationships with both investors and operating partners.
As the firm has grown, Alceon invited David Gribble to join as a principal and CEO to help lead the next phase of development, bringing deep experience in private capital and balance sheet investing from his time as a partner at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and as a Goldman Sachs balance sheet investor. His appointment reflects the founders’ intent to strengthen Alceon’s capabilities across the alternative investment spectrum, further institutionalise the platform and broaden its access to opportunities and capital while preserving the firm’s partnership culture and alignment with investors.
Alceon’s Senior Leadership Team comprises leaders of each area of our business and brings together experienced executives across investment, risk, compliance, finance, operations and distribution. Together they bring decades of experience across private capital, banking, law, accounting, technology and people leadership, giving the firm a broad, real world perspective on how to build and run a modern investment platform.
The Senior Leadership Team is focused on building a platform that lets our people do their best work: rolling out new technology, simplifying how deals get done, lifting the quality and speed of our data and reporting, and creating an environment where talented people want to stay and grow. The team is deliberately diverse in background, education, age and gender, which brings different ways of thinking to the table and helps us challenge assumptions, solve problems faster and make better decisions for our investors and our people.
They sit close to the action, working with teams on the ground to turn ideas into opportunities and opportunities into invested capital. From launching new strategies and products, to reshaping how we collaborate across offices and sectors, the Senior Leadership Team keeps Alceon moving forward – practical, curious and relentlessly focused on superior outcomes for our people, investors and capital partners.
